347 stainless steel pipe is an austenitic stainless steel containing stabilizing elements. This alloy is easy to weld. Annealing after welding may not be necessary unless stress relief is required. 347 stainless steel pipe has excellent anti-oxidation and corrosion resistance. 347 stainless steel works best at temperatures up to 1600 °F. The addition of niobium and tantalum to 347 stainless steel pipe provides some desirable properties such as:
Prevent harmful carbide precipitation in the heat affected zone (HAZ) of the welding area.
Has significant resistance to inter-granular corrosion.
